Yikes!

Today I was sitting in a meeting with part of my development team and with the functional team, going over system requirements. We got into a discussion on referential integrity, and I was talking about foreign keys with respect to the system being discussed. That's when one of the people in the meeting asked, "What's a foreign key?"

Small detail: the person asking the question has been working for at least 5 years and has a Computer Engineering degree...

a foreign key is a key you get from a foreign country like England and Brazil and China!! Unless you're in those countries, at which point, they're clearly called native keys.
